Discuss political and Rights of Way issues related to trail riding

Noise

Postby fallenmikethebike » Mon Feb 08, 2010 7:00 pm

 Hi All, I have just got in from a meeting of the Surrey Hills Committee.
Their role is to promote The A.O,N,B. that is Surrey Hills, now, one of the biggest discussions centred around noise from Motorcycles, specifically, Wolvens Lane.
Now, I know it's not us that makes all the noise because were Trail Riders, right, but, if you see some of those riders on those big four stroke beasties, or you might know some of them, have a gentle word with them to lay of the beans in front of the houses in that Lane, unfortunately, and unfairly, we are being tarred with the same brush as the TO55ERS ON crossers, and open pipe Morons.
Yes I know it's unfair, and there's no argument you can throw at me that I haven't already tried, were getting near to the last chance saloon.
The Police have cautioned 15 people over the last couple of months, and seized 2 bikes being used illegally, a cube of metal and rubber at each end of the lane may help get the message across, perhaps.

Sadly noise has always been an issue, and the illegal silencer boys are the main culprits.

I have been walking around there and I agree, any non legal bike makes way too much noise. Sure you can hear the legal bikes sometimes but far less intrusive. Fact of life we all get tarred with the same brush.
